I didn’t expect this to make me cry
We made a Tape for our wedding thinking it would just be a fun little thing for our guests to do. But listening to everything the next morning completely got me. Hearing my parents, grandparents, and closest friends actually speaking to us felt so different from reading a card or looking through photos. Some messages were only 20 seconds long, but I already know I’m going to keep them forever.
So much easier than renting an audio guestbook!
I really wanted an audio guestbook for our wedding but didn’t love the idea of renting a phone, setting everything up, and having everyone line up to use it. With Tape, we just printed the QR code and placed it around the venue. Guests scanned it and recorded from their own phones, and even our older family members figured it out. It was honestly so much easier than I expected!!
Listening to these the next day was WILD 😂
We had absolutely no idea what people were recording all night, which made opening our Tape the next morning so much fun. Some messages were incredibly sweet, some had us crying laughing, and a few got increasingly chaotic as the night went on 😂 It felt like hearing a completely different side of our wedding that we didn’t get to experience ourselves.

What is Tape by Once?
Tape is a digital audio guestbook that lets guests leave voice messages from their own phones. Simply create a Tape, share the QR code or link, and keep all the voices from your event together in one place.
Do guests need to download the Once app?
No. Guests don’t need to download an app or create an account. They can simply scan your Tape QR code or open the shared link and record a voice message directly from their phone.
How do I use the QR code at my event?
Every Tape comes with a QR code and shareable link. You can place the QR code on welcome signs, tables, invitations, menus, or anywhere guests can easily scan it and leave a message.
How long can each guest record a message?
You can choose the recording length when creating your Tape. This lets you decide how much time each guest has to leave a voice message based on the kind of event you’re hosting.
Do I have to give guests a question or prompt?
No. You can add a custom prompt if there’s something specific you’d like guests to talk about, or leave it open so they can freely share congratulations, stories, memories, advice, or anything else they’d like to say.
What happens to my Tape after the event?
Your Tape automatically closes at the date and time you choose. Once it closes, all the voice messages collected during your event stay together in your Tape, ready for you to listen to and replay.
Can I see who left each voice message?
Yes. Guests can leave their name and photo with their recording, making it easy to remember exactly who each voice belongs to when you listen back later.
Can I download the recordings from my Tape?
Yes. You can listen to your messages inside Tape and download your recordings to keep your own copies.
